TravelItalyItaly's favourite suburb is Frascati. Just outside Rome, far enough away to be the Prince's palatial retreat, Frascati lures its visitors with orange groves, fresh flowers, and an unusual scent that is so sweet in August, it's overwhelming.Once again it's the town square in Frascati that's worth the pricde of admission and in this case, the food matches.
Breakfast: Due cappucini et cornetti This is all the Italian you'll need for the first day of ordering but be prepared to stay. It's hard to leave Rome. Everytime I go thinking I'll say 3 days and it ends up being at least 8. The commute from Frascati is not difficult, except by metro which only goes half the way. After a late night in Campo di Fiori, we made our way to this train station via cab. I berated him with my accounts of Roberto Benini's humor to which he laughed. Finally, we convinced our host to wake up and fetch us. We left sadly and with a strong desire to sit back in the town square to drink the wine, savour the supli and watch the crowds parade back and forth.
