Butchart Gardens

In Victoria, there is a small place to visit if you have even the slightest shade pof green in your thumb. The Royal Butchart Gardens just a few miles from the ferries is a sight not to be missed on a 1-day excursion on Vancouver Island just outside Victoria, British Columbia. The greenery doesn't come any better than this and if you're as lucky as me and see it on a rainy day, you can actually see the horticulture drink the water as it falls.

There is nothing more satisfying than the pleasant feeling of rain dropping on your umbrella as you hear a gentle brook rumbling away as you peer at a freshly manicured lawn of flowers and shrubs perfectly matched to take advantage of every angle and every incline while your stomach sits satisfed from a hearty and warm afternoon tea.

Do not miss the Gift Shop at the Gardens. There is so much for everyone to see and it is a good way to learn more about what it takes to prepare a world class garden.
